David was born and raised in Titusville, FL. While in high school, he played center on the high school football team, sang tenor in the concert and madrigals choirs, and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. After graduating from Titusville High School in 1987, David moved to Memphis to attend Rhodes College and earned a BS in Chemistry with ACS certification in 1991. While at Rhodes, David sang tenor in the Rhodes College Singers and played on the Rhodes golf team for four years.

Upon graduation David worked as a chemist in Memphis industry for 2 ½ years. He then received an MBA, with a concentration in Production and Operations Management, from the University of Memphis in 1994.

David has worked at AutoZone since 1995, where he started as a financial analyst and currently serves as Director of Inventory and Replenishment with over $4.7B of responsibility. Through his 26+ years at AutoZone, David has gained extensive experience in, among other things, leading and working in cross-functional groups, mentoring young professionals, negotiation, and dispute resolution.

David has also been active in the Bartlett community serving as coach of various youth sport teams, serving on the Bartlett Education Advisory Committee, serving as Cubmaster and Den Leader for Cub Scout Pack 255, and Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 255.

David is an active member of the Episcopal Church. He has served in numerous leadership positions including two terms on the Vestry, Junior Warden, Senior Warden, and Chair of the building committee to build the new church at the corner of Billy Maher and Old Brownsville Road.

David and his wife Emily were married in 1992 and have lived in Bartlett since 1995. Their two sons, now both in college, went to Bartlett City Schools and graduated from Bartlett High School. David and Emily are both products of public school systems. David is a big believer that public schools are the best way to prepare young women and men for life in the real world.
